Hack STEMAIDE 2025: Inspiring Young Innovators Across Ghana

Building smart solutions through technology and creativity

On the 13th of November at GDIW, we witnessed something truly exciting. The very first Hack STEMAIDE took place — a fast and practical hardware hackathon created to help young people solve real local problems using simple but powerful technology.

Organised by STEMAIDE, the event brought together more than 60 participants from different backgrounds. Students, young professionals, hobbyists, and complete beginners all came with one purpose: to learn, to build, and to create something meaningful for their communities.

Turning Ideas into Real Solutions

The theme for this year was “AI for Impact — Local Problems, Smart Solutions”. Teams were encouraged to think beyond theory and turn their ideas into working hardware projects. Using the STEMAIDE Kit, which includes sensors, microcontrollers, LEDs, buzzers, and other simple components, eight teams had only one hour to build.

More Than a Competition

Hack STEMAIDE was not just about building projects. It showed what young people can achieve when they are given the tools, confidence, and space to explore. Hack STEMAIDE returns next year, bigger, better, and full of opportunities for young innovators across Ghana.
